At Prakriti Valley School we are committed to all round education. We believe that the child needs to be given the right kind of creative environment. Art & Craft, Music, Dance, Physical Education and Fitness Training are as important as core academic subjects. The School has hired well qualified, child friendly staff and is in the continued process of building a good team.
We understand that simple creative activities are some of the building blocks of child development. Learning to create and appreciate visual aesthetics is extremely important.
Prakriti Valley School has a flourishing Art School with a well defined curriculum. Apart from being a compulsory subject it is also offered as a hobby under Clubs and Society. Art Department gives students a hands-on with various media including wax crayons, oil pastels, dry pastels, needle work, charcoal, pen and ink, water colours, acrylic colours, fabric colours, poster colours, pottery, terracotta tile making, and sculpture.
Children are guided and encouraged to work with various materials as buttons, glass marbles, wooden shavings, ribbons, stones, plant and animal material, plastic straws, glass bangles, jute bags etc. The resultant works of Art are displayed all over the school. To facilitate a platform for young minds of 6 - 14 years and to harness their creative potential, the school has thus far hosted three On the Spot Drawing and Painting Competitions: Creative Splash: 1, Creative Splash: 2 and Creative Splash:3 on 8th March 2015, 4th October 2015 and 31st January 2016.
Music is one of the best vehicles for learning in early childhood development. Psychologists, neuroscientists, and experts in early childhood development have demonstrated that apart from bringing joy, music helps brain cells make the connections needed for virtually every kind of intelligence. Apart from developing a lifelong love for music, research indicates that when young children are consistently engaged by music in an age-appropriate, socially accepting environment, they benefit at many levels.
Compulsory Music lessons are structured in the school time table. Specialisation can be taken up by opting for the Music Club. Apart from teaching Indian Classical Vocal, individual training programme for musical instruments, such as the Keyboard and Indian Percussion instrument (Tabla) are in place. Training and support is provided for performing in events. Singing hymns during school assembly is a regular feature at the school. For those who are genuinely interested and wish to pursue Indian Music seriously, the school intends to facilitate Junior Diploma in Music in future.
Yoga and Structured Physical and Functional Training Programme are integral part of Sports Curriculum.
The school offers the following sporting disciplines:
